Yeah, I remember the days... buying the game on floppy disc or, if you really wanted to have fun, buy a book with 5000 pages and type it all out so you can program the game yourself. I remember the first thing I did in basic programming on the TI 99. I spent an hour and a half typing all kinds of symbols in and the end result? An arrow flies across the screen. I threw my hands up in celebration because it worked... then realized "WTF? I spent all that time for a 2 second arrow to fly across my screen...."
We had one of those and my brother was the only one who had the patience to make it work. The rest of us would get frustrated after just a few minutes. I can remember him getting all excited because he got something to move on the screen once and we were all like, "wow, great" and walked away. lol sometimes I feel really old though when I can't remember how we got from that to the computers of today. I mean I still remember playing some tank fighting game in high school for an hour a day because it was the only game on the computers in the lab and who wouldn't want credit for doing playing a game.
The $2.00 game from Yuan Hou is still up. Did anyone ever have success with this? I know we had issues with cancellations or no one showing up.
Everything went smoothly and I got paid when I did it a few weeks ago. He posted a slight different one from what I did. Wonder if I can do it again?
wow it should! I'm sorry I was at 17, but am also at work and covering phones.... so I thought 15 was a good guesstimate
I wouldn't have minded a tank fighting game. When I was in high school, I got super excited when Dad brought home Pong.
I got paid the $2.00 my team mate was super flakey and kind of dropped out half way through but I still got paid, I was lucky too cause my games started withing 5 minutes of me emailing Yuan.
Complete a 10 minute survey Requester: Michael Haselhuhn Reward: $0.50 per HIT Took me just over 6 minutes
I accepted the hit and it had a 5 hour timer on it. I emailed him and his reply was "The only game available was for 8PM." I emailed him at 9:30 AM. I told him that the hit would be abandoned and I was told to release it and pick it up again later. It was an inconvenient time, so I never tried again.
