A year ago my cousin introduced me to the subreddit beermoney. I noticed mturk gave me the most for the shortest amount of time. As my daily and weekly total rose so did my quality of beer. So I turk for booze cause booze is a great motivator.
Probably the girl who posted here a week or two ago about how she only turks to buy cute outfits for her pets.

It's obvious people really do this. I return one here and there, usually when I get interrupted and can't finish it. But somebody or a group of somebodies cherry picks their way through and "burns the turf". Happens in every batch, but it is nice to see a requester doing something about it. I don't mind the small ones either, although I'll admit I've been tempted to return Little Effin Caesar's every time they come up!
The same here. I went to costa rica with turk money, later bought a new PC and a paddleboard with it. I roll it into an ally bank account, the mrs doesn't care as it's money i earn on the side. I do buy dinner with it every other week, keeps the family happy.

To be fair, I didn't see much of an advantage to the cherry-picking method when I was working on the qualification HITs. Using the flowchart, they pretty much end up going about the same average pace, give or take - at least for me. But as someone pointed out, if there's something broken with a particular locator or other issues...hmm. I have to trust they must know what they're doing, but I guess I still find it a bit on the disturbing side. Most requesters do not pay well enough for me to not want to cherry-pick through, or have such an arbitrary system when it comes to not finding things that you're afraid to do anything that might get rejected and it's safer to just not accept the HIT in the first place. What I'd worry about if I were them is that this might actually increase the "bad" work they get back. If someone's not confident they won't properly designate a specific location, maybe they *shouldn't* work on that particular HIT. Amazon gives us the skip and return tools for a reason. I don't know if I like the idea of requesters punishing us for using them.
I know what you were saying with the photo but the photo in general infuriates me. Such a horrible way to treat animals.
but MMOs make sense... you can min/max and reach the prize as efficiently as you like, even if it takes use of partial derivatives like guild wars... mturk, on the other hand... it's like a corrupted gameboy cartridge and masters is being handed out by missingno...
