Morning everyone. Question for anyone familiar with laptop repair and maintenance: My fan seems to be running a little louder the last week or so, and has been running a little warmer than it used to. I was doing VDXs this morning while running RealTemp, and noticed my temps jumping up from around 60C to 80-90C whenever I submitted. The temps would then drop back down. Do processors normally have bursts of hot temps under load like that? It just seems a little...off. No shutdowns or BSODs. My guess would be that the fan needs a cleaning, and possibly new thermal paste for heatsink and CPU. Anyone have any ideas?
I always believe that laptops more than desktops should be taken apart and cleaned more often. That being said, you could be using more processing power when you submit, but I don't think it would cause that much of a difference. I am wondering if there is some kind of fan failure also potentially happening. Either way, a great start would be a thorough cleaning.
Yes. load 20 tabs of youtube and see what the fans do But yeah cleaning it does alot. I bought some air duster and it help alot out with the speed and the fans actually stayed in the low RPM for the first time in a while. Kind of glad the laptop died though. like my desktop way better for turking

another cheap option is using a cooling pad to put under the laptop...someone bought me one as a stocking stuffer for Xmas as I had an overheating laptop, and bam - no more problems and works as a good backup when I got tons of tabs up or when the device seems to be working harder than it should
