Wow... That's truly amazing. What do you feed her normally? Aw! Did she get bit by another animal? Hopefully she was able to get the appropriate shots/biopsy of whatever animal bit her.
Sorry I wasn't clear. The dog was getting his rabies shot and check up and they let us bring her in at his appointment. She's just not eating we're not sure why. Could be respiratory but she was growling and hissing during the exam so can't be sure what sounds were her lungs. Being the rescue she doesn't like people touching her. My other one is sweet though. We had her blood drawn for a test and started her on an antibiotic and a laxative as she's not pooped in awhile but the vet says she's full and that certainly wont help. Maybe a good poop will get things moving and going in again They are fed a special beef based mix that is formulated to match the nutritional content of their wild diet. Ground beef, beef heart, wheat bran, thyme and some other things for minerals. They get ants and blue cheese as treats. One of their favorite ants in the wild smells and tastes like blue cheese.
This is so good to hear! (what you feed them I mean, not that she is having issues in her old age) Honestly, I haven't heard of anyone owning an ant eater... Ever. I'm very curious how you even came about to own her but I guess that may be a story for another day... And they really eat ants! I didn't even know that, I mean of course that is in their name but you never know. When I was younger I wanted to be a veterinarian but the thought of having to put down animals ever drew me away from the profession.
