survey help....... Hey guys ... I have a question. while doing survey hits on mturk do we have it accept it first and the do the suvery or after completing a survey we can accept it and paste the completion code in it. because yesterday i did a survey and without accepting it I just went to survey link and completed the survey which too me to complete around 8 minutes and after getting completion code i hve accepted the hit on mturk and submitted the code.... I now today my hit is rejected by the requester saying "It normally takes people 10 minutes on average to finish our study. Our record indicates that you completed our study in less than 50 seconds. We have sufficient reason to think that you did not pay enough attention and thus reject you."...
Accept the hit first. Hell you might do the survey first and then there are not hits left and then you dont get paid.

I cleared the qual test but didn't even try the HITs cuz of the horrible TO. Not sure if anyone else had any issue.
I am sorry to hear that brother. My honest suggestion to you would be to go to sleep right now and get up in about 5-6 hours cuz the good HITs will start coming then and you will be feeling fresh and focus better on them. The next 4-5 hours are usually very slow and will make you tired by the time good stuff comes along.
Yeah, they've been broken ever since they went up. The same thing happened with their last batch, which also went up on a Sunday. They fixed it around 8:00 a.m. Monday morning, but with tomorrow being a holiday, not sure they'll fix this batch by then or not. As far as the bad TO, I'm one of the ones who left some from the last batch. I did 54 HITs for them and had 4 rejected. When they finished going over the whole batch, they sent me a DB of the hits I had done, showing me what I did wrong. In one case, I agree with them. I left out an e-mail address. In one case, I could find nothing wrong. To their credit, when I pointed that one out, they reversed that one rejection. But in two other cases, I had made a very minor typo (typed F/A instead of N/A). I questioned them on such a niggling reason for a rejection and they wrote back that their program is very specific and even a typo as minor as that would throw off their data. I pointed out that we had exchanged three e-mails about it and in that time they could very easily have just changed the "F" to an "N." But they never answered that e-mail. So anyway, I will do more of their HITs -- maybe -- if the money is good enough and there's absolutely nothing else going at the time, but I know that if I do, it has to be 1000% correct. Even the tiniest mistake will lead to a rejection.
I think one of the tricks with them is to do cut and paste instead of typing anything into the fields. With this new hit, they're saying they want things EXACTLY as in the original text, which they did with the last batch too. I actually had written to them while the other hit was still up because I found two typos in the original text (in one "acquisition" was spelled "acqusition" and in another "contract" was spelled "contrac"). They actually wrote me back and said not to fix the misspellings. Since I had already done those two HITs and fixed it, they told me it would be okay because I told them about it beforehand -- and they did approve those two HITs -- but they told me in the e-mail not to fix anything else. If there's a typo, too bad. Put it EXACTLY as it appears in the original text.
