I've heard it's a bit easier going in the early mornings. Recently graduating college and still being stuck without a job leaves my sleep schedule at roughly 4am-noon (eastern). I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it for me to try to get back on a normal person sleep schedule. I guess what I'm trying to ask is just how much better is it in the AM hours? (question posed to anyone. I just quoted due to relevance)

I think I make more money if I start early enough to catch at least some of the am hours on the East Coast because a lot of requesters are on Eastern Time.
I often catch batches when I wake up around 11AM-noon, Central time (same boat as you - recent grad, no job). But it seems like they usually start before I catch them. Staying up later on Monday-Thursday night works out usually.. some batches are posted. Getting up early on weekends is pointless, there aren't many batches if any. So, you could stay up late Monday-Saturday, sleep early on Sunday. If you reeeeeally want the batches though, I'd shoot for 10AM wakeup.

Off topic.. Has anyone try to explain to some one else what we do? (family, friends, coworkers). I have tried telling some of my relatives and they seem not to believe you can make money on the internet. I don't push it. but I know some people that would benefit but they just don't want to do it..
Thanks for the tips everyone! I'll probably start trying to get up around 9-10 instead of noon. Might as well get used to it, I'll hopefully have a reason to get up at 6am every day at some point. Until then, I'll keep living off mTurk

Ooops. I made a mistake. I meant Publish and Perish: Three Tales of Tenure and Terror. I got the title to Resume With Monsters right, though. ETA: I recommend both.
If it ever comes up I just say I do freelance writing in my free time, and come up with a figure like $700/month. If they probe, say you ghost write and say you can't disclose who you write for as part of the agreement of employment.
