I kinda want to go back in time to 2008 to do this guy's survey. http://www.behind-the-enemy-lines.com/2008/03/why-people-participate-on-mechanical.html Just so I can point out why offering 10 cents for an essay renders any results utterly meaningless. You haven't learned a damn thing about why people participate on mechanical turk. You might have an understanding of why people willing to write essays for a dime participate though.
Thanks, it seemed odd that the export had no link for it. Not sure we need yet another review place, but I guess it can't be any worse than the other two.
It was new to me as of my return from my couple month hiatus. I like its hourly wage system because it shows up on HIT Forker and gives me a good idea if a HIT is worth it.
It seems to suffer from some of the same issues as the new TO (based on 10 minutes of reading reviews of some requesters I know). Yeah, you get an actual hourly. But the reviews don't feel very representative, more like people bragging about how fast they are. (Or how badly the requester pays, depending on the requester). We have Nate Hodges with a reported $29.64/hr based on 41 reviews. Like hell. He pays okay, but rarely anywhere near that. Did an $8 one yesterday with 66 minutes of video and a watch-it-all-or-lose-your-qual threat. That is more my experience. Minimum-wageish.
Jenni--why don't you try the MTSuite? You don't have to format the pandas yourself. The script does it. Are you on Chrome?
Why don't you and BlazinDimes go to the Worker thread, where he can tutor you without disrupting the Great Hits? Are you not planning to turk once you go back to work? WORKER site Discussion link I think MTSuite might suit you.
