I expect there to be a lot of more violence and attacks on Americans if by chance she gets in there. She already declared her first action as POTUS will be to blow up Iran and Libya. The world is just waiting to see if we're stupid enough to vote in that warmonger. I think the military needs a revamp, and everyone who voted for her should be forced to join the military and do her dirty work.
It makes me so mad to think she is probably going to be our first female president. It's going to be awful, but our alternative is Trump who has no idea how the government works and will sign whatever legistlation is put in front of him to make sure his wall gets built. This is an ego trip for him, he wants a mark on america and it's going to be his wall.
I think both you guys (like a lot of people) read way too much into campaign promises, and seriously overestimate how much power the POTUS really wields. I think whoever is elected is gonna eventually go down in history as a remarkably ineffectual president (moreso than Obama, maybe along the lines of a Jimmy Carter or something).
Yeah, the county is so polarized that likely not much will happen from a legislative perspective no matter who gets elected. However, next POTUS does get to select at least one Supreme Court judge, which can certainly have a long term impact on the country.
Seriously, this. It drives me insane how intent people are on getting Sanders into office while glossing over the fact that 90% of his stated platform would require legislative approval that happens to be the only thing in the universe more unlikely to occur than him becoming president in the first place. With Trump or Clinton it won't be any different, though Trump might get a tax cut or two through.
It's amazing how much people care about presidential elections compared to congressional elections. We have a system of checks and balances. Pay attention and vote for your senators and representatives as well. Locally and federally. They're all important, and they all (ideally) work in harmony.

I have to say, I am disappointed about the situation with Bernie...but this (^^) is so correct. I've come to feel that presidents are nothing more than just the face that represents us and that's it's one of the least powerful positions that there is. I really don't care for Hillary. I don't know yet how I feel about her being "the face" that represents us. But I def know how I feel about Trump being that face. Ugh. It would be nice if that face at least understood how the system worked and what the Constitution says. He's like Sarah Palin all over again, just probably not as blatantly ignorant to the general public, most of which also don't know what the Constitution says. Morning everyone.
I don't believe there will ever be a wall. I think that is a joke he said that his supporters just rolled with. He laughs every time he talks about it like it's a running joke. I think the most we will get out of Trump is the first reality show from the whitehouse or something similarly stupid. I think the republicans are going to put people around him to do the job for him and all he's going to do is facetime. I'm just not as scared of him as I should be.
I don't think anyone recalls the dirty work they must do in their position. Sure, the position itself warrants them a 10% power. But if a Republican is in, and the House and Senate are Republican. A lot more will be passed through if it were a Democratic president which inevitably gives him more power. But onto the most important factor... They meet with other leaders. They directly impact every citizen of the United States when they go. If felt disrespected, if treated as a joke. It can effect our Economy, or even thrust us into an unwanted situation. I'd say that warrants more than 10% of power.
It's obviously not a meaningless position, but their ability to impact legislation is quite overstated, especially during election season.
This is one thing I've said about a possible Trump presidency msyself...I think as blustery as he is, he actually knows deep down what his limitations are, and will probably surround himself with smart people that make most of the real policy decisions with (for?) him. As a businessman that's probably one of the things he's actually good at.
FL is working hard to get Debbie out and Tim in. We also need to get rid of Rick Scott, but since he is convinced he's about to be Trumps VP, I doubt he's going to go anywhere unless it's to the white house. I don't even think Trump has mentioned him. Rick just sorta nominated himself as VP. Crazy.
I disagree. Just this week he was on a conference call with supporters and told them to do something and a Governor on the call says, "but that contradicts the email that your staff sent yesterday" and Trump proceeds to trash his staff and say that they didn't know what they were talking about and the supporters should just do what Trump told them. I just don't see Trump as actually listening to anybody, he always thinks that he is right. I imagine him surrounding himself with "yes men".
