Don't be too disappointed. It was good money, but it was brutal. A lot of people felt that they were barely making decent money because of the difficulty of the work and the strict requirements. I did well because I've been doing transcription work for almost my entire adult life (which is a loooong time), but definitely not for everybody ...
I've been on Mturk since my join date here basically. Have hit $20 a dozen times or so and have only cracked $30 once.

I'm pretty patient with transcriptions, but I wasn't into the timestamps so I skipped the qual HIT. (Did anyone do that AHK text expansion stuff, by the way? Just curious.)
You know he did away with the timestamps, right? We all complained about that, and I'm really glad he listened. I don't know if anyone was using text expanders, but I don't think so. It really wouldn't have been all that useful anyway. It wasn't the kind of work where a lot of the same phrases appeared over and over. I do remember somebody talking about doing global search-and-replace type functions for the (umm) (ahh) (uhh) stuff, but I can't see that that would have saved a ton of time. I personally just typed whatever was necessary. But as I said before, I type 150 wpm, so ...
Still weren't worth it for me, even with the bonus. Only did 2 and bailed. What AHK text expansion stuff?
I know he did away with the timestamps, but you needed to do that qual HIT to be able to do the non-timestamp qual HIT. I would have made it so I could type "um" and have it be immediately replaced with "(umm)." Parentheses slow me down a lot. Don't know if that's the case with anyone else, though. An AHK script with a bunch of lines like this: c:um:Umm) c:ah:Ahh)
Was a pain for me and the line breaks too. I mentioned all that too him but he only cared that a couple of people were getting them done anyway. Went back and forth with him many times but in the end I'm probably on his **** list now.
