Is it true that once I get a certain number of hits, I will have more options that are more valuable? If so, at how many hits is this? Right now I have right under 200, and I'm getting a little discouraged. How do I make my time more worth it? Thanks all!
Very easy but some people worry that these hits could be linked to people losing Masters (or at least that was a topic of discussion a few weeks ago). I have probably done a few hundred without problems
The key milestones are 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000. Won't see a huge bump at 1k, but 5k and 10k are a different story.
I always do their Masters batches, but there's a thread on this forum where people say this requester is the reason they lost Masters. That hasn't been my experience, but just so you know.

Yes. Unfortunately, not much is available when you first start. I think in the General thread there is a list of good requesters for people who want to build their numbers. If I were you, I would focus on building numbers and trying to do at least a few surveys a day so that you will get a couple of bucks
There's a few milestones you have to look forward to that requesters will often place as qualifiers for work. It's usually 100 (which you've met, GREAT JOB!), 500, 1000, 5000, and rarely anymore, 10,000. The beginning sucks. It just does. You have to be persistent and keep trying. Look for good requesters who have great TO (turkopticon, if you haven't, check out the link in my signature for how-to scripts for newbies, it will outline turkopticon) that put up batch work (unlike surveys, this is usually groups of hits that you can complete as many as you can before they're gone). Here's a good over view of requesters to look out for here. It sucks, I know. We all know, we all went through it. It gets easier and more lucrative the more effort you expend.

I have just under 10k. I haven't noticed a huge difference past 1000. But, literally every day I've put actual focus into turking and reading here and other sites, my productivity. You get better at certain types of hits, you get better at using the scripts and finding better hits, and you get more qualifications. All of a sudden, you realize you kind of know what you're doing and you are making more money every day. Right now, I'm only making $20/day (but I work around my kids' schedules and do it whenever I have the time) but just a month or two ago, $5 a day seemed like an accomplishment. The biggest helps for me were setting up alerts on Turk Alert once I found requesters I could work on that post large batches and also checking in here periodically.I'm a SAHM so I have flexibility, but I do those things and once I see a batch or a good survey pop up, I snatch it up. Before you know it, you've got thousands of hits and you haven't wasted a ton of time staring at your screen feeling unproductive with nothing to work on. But, really, focus on the tools you have available to you (Turk Alert, TO, scripts, this board).I think those make much more impact than then number of hits you have once you get over 1000. Just my two cents. Hope that helped a little. ETA: Also, it's sloooooow because of the holiday. Give it a few days and it'll pick up a lot.
So I take it this Social Photo batches is one of those where everyone can do the max amount of HITs in the batch? Guess I got time to knock out a hundred. Didn't plan on making 1 dollar today, much less 5.
