Ugh...I just watched that PBS thing again. I was a sociology major. These people obviously don't remember how hard it was to get a representative sample even 10 years ago. If I could just go online and get a diverse, nationwide sample when I was doing my undergrad research, I'd have been the happiest person alive. And "trained responses" lol. If anything we're more honest, because if they ask if we're feeling agitated we're like "HELL YES, I just spent 20 minutes chasing billy the bug!" People are usually notorious for giving the answers that they think they should give. That's why mturk isn't going anywhere. Don't let the gloom-and-doomers fool you.
Morning! Is there a script that turns links on a page to hyperlinks? I keep encountering hits that would be decent with niftysplit but the links are text. Like that Perlow hit.
Seth Perlow is pretty awesome. I realized that I did 10 hits leaving 2nd and 3rd identifiers blank if there weren't any, instead of writing "none." Within 5 minutes he emailed me back I'm glad he let me know so fast.

I glossed that piece, but I don't remember seeing anything about Qualtrics. It has a stake in research, too. It supplies the bank of questions, yes? They could shake things up if they wanted to. Researchers could come up with something original if they wanted to, if they had the time. I DO think the piece touched on that. I don't believe researchers are willing to go door to door or call people on the phone for responses to their questions. I DO think we are their best shot...for now, anyway.

I might have to try those. The one I have seems to work on regular pages, but not within the hits. Defeats the purpose. Edit: I can't get any of them to work the way I need. Boo.
