We can't give too many tips since I don't think that would be ethical, but I found it easy. Just make sure you read their guidelines, and then you should pass. Also, if you pass, be sure to take CrowdSurf's test, too! I can't say why--just trust me on that.
No, but a lot of them are. People complain about Claritrans because the audio is lousy. Well, the really short audios are usually lousy (music, blank, inaudible). They're nice because the audio plays without the HIT having to be accepted, so there's no returning something you don't want to do.
Open and read the style guide before your start. CrowdSurf Support has a qual test, too. Same thing - be familiar with the style guide first. If I'm not mistaken, that qual test is a one shot deal with no retakes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
I'd recommend Crowdsurf over Claritrans b/c Claritrans rejects some of those short ones and won't tell you why (and yes I have a bit of grudge against them over several rejections). No matter which one you go with, take the time to learn their style guide. Starting out it's probably wise to stick with the one with the interface you like the best.

I was thinking short, quick, with the highest chance of success, that's why I suggested Claritrans blank HITs - there's usually some in every batch.
