You're not alone when it comes to not being interested to Nate. I'd rather chit chat in here about random stuff than do Nates. I missed out a lot of money today because I couldn't bring myself to do them. My attention span just doesn't allow me to deal with them. They are god sends to some people, but I'd rather just snag a few high paying surveys than spend all day clicking on their boats.
I honestly felt that way at first. I was all about HWTF...In fact, I think I'm still the last person to update their scripts wiki XD (I need to do that again, have sort of been slacking). But then I got to know some of the people around here, got the hang of it, now I spend entirely too much time socializing in here XD You'll get the hang of the format, it takes a little bit and some trial and error and possibly someone (most likely turklyfe...it might just be your avatar but I see you as very...antagonistic ;3) going off on you a few times, but you'll get the hang of it. I honestly like what's posted here more than HWTF...reddit tends to bind itself up with its .10/min thing, and misses out of a lot of good money because of it. Just my opinion Welcome!
Sadly, Adam Beatty is still somewhere near the top of my list of most-paying requesters. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case for quite a few folks.

The format is better on HWTF, too bad they post the same HITs there over and over again (often reposted from here) and the main purpose of the forum is basically getting you to click on ad.fly links rather than posting good hits to help other turkers out. I don't want to be an apologist for this forum, but I'd rather have to scroll past .gifs and banter than dodge links to spam and computer-crippling malware.

And I mean honestly, if everyone were to use the hit exporter (not even necessarily my edited one, there's 2 out there), hit formats would be standardized anyway. I agree with the adfly links though...I used to be a supporter of them, saying I didn't mind waiting 5 seconds to help my friends out...but after being here? That 5 seconds could (and usually does) stand between me and getting at a hit before it runs out.
Yeah, I understand that. On reddit, I hide posts, and automatically hide when I up-vote, but there are...a lot of reposts, which is understandable if a survey is a week old and still going, but a lot of people post search links instead of the actually hit. I'd like to make it clear, I'm not complaining. My comment was more from 'surprise' than 'annoyance'. Like I said I've been lurking for almost a month. I'm just surprised at how many comments came from nates. I mean, we are about to break a record of how many posts in a day! It's silly. Often from the same questions and comments over and over. And it's strange that there is 352k hits on mturk, most of them crowdsource that you can't even do. I'm used to it hovering around 180k It psychologically upsetting...
I messaged him about it. I'll post when he respods. He's mostly interested rural areas as you can see from this prior response. For places that are urban or suburban looking, we'd rather not have anything tagged. Looking more for rural stuff. When in doubt, place a tag, tough. THanks!
