Disclaimer: This is my own hit. Make a forum introduction. I will post this myself on my skateboardforum.com (Yes - I own a lot of forums). - A few sentences, please - Describe yourself - Describe your skateboarding experience - Similar vibe to the introductions threads found on this forum https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2ZSQUQIHPCGJC3WP3DN52H1NSWT063
I had to reject a few that did not mention skateboarding and were of bad quality, but I will try to accept the good ones in the next few hours. Thanks guys - potentially a lot more coming (I have surfingforum, skateboardforum, wakeboardforum ++ many many more).
I have an honest question about what are the best skate shoes nowadays (my 9 year old is mega getting into skating). Would something along those lines be ok?
Athena, that would depend on a lot of factors. There is no best. A better option, yeah. Durability is a big deal since skaters basically destroy their shoes in what seems to be over night. Chances are you'll pay a pretty penny up front, but it might be a better investment down the road if they're made correctly.
Athena, Yes, you can ask the question but make it based around your introduction as all of these will be put into the introductions area on skateboardforum.com. Thanks
Wow, that was quick. It's funny, before I posted it here I had waited 24 hours and only 12/31 had completed it. I'll try to post some more within a few hours. Sometimes it may involve reading a post and then replying to it.
Hey Athena, I've been skating since I was 9 (I'm 25 now). Some skaters like to have cushion, some like it almost bare (think chuck taylors). One thing I would look for is lace protection. Some shoes have protectors at the lace holes, closer to the toes. It keeps you from ripping up your shoe laces every time you olllie - the laces get chewed up eventually anyways. Certain skate shoes are built tougher around the outside of the pinky toe areas, since those areas take the most damage from the grip tape.
