I actually haven't read the books, but he seems to be heavily influenced by Tolkien. I saw some comments where he bashed Tolkien for resurrecting Gandalf. I was like "Fuck you George R.R."
Yeah, that's my feeling. Very derivative. And totally dull with it, too. Not knocking the show, though. That shit is fantastic.
I just finished watching Talking Dead. Did everyone see the walking dead finale? Spoiler I hate that Sasha's gone but I'm glad Sonequa's gonna be on another show. I've never been a Star Trek fan except for the recent movies but I'll give the show a try for her. Also, I listened to the audiobook for A Game of Thrones. It was okay but I never did go any further into the series than the first book for some reason.

There was definitely a major drop in quality. And judging by the short form stuff he has written for the series since, it's permanent. I have! He's pretty good. I thought his time taking over The Late Late Show was pretty good. I've read one of his books, too. He has like a gabillion kids.
