    @aatonturk--
"The cat was not entirely whale enough to enter the mouse hole."

What does that mean? Looks like a typo.

Survey content from a long forgotten HIT.

    Too lazy to change it.

you never worked at a job where you train your replacement?
not sure why so many believe that OCR is more accurate or cheaper
though they are getting progressively better

several people doing the same receipt
is cheaper than OCR with one or more mistakes
then what would you do? how could you know there were no mistakes?
wouldn't "someone" or "something" have to check them?

all of these companies either use OCR or train OCR using your data
none of them would rather use MTurk

I haven't looked at OCR in a few years, but it totally sucked dick at the time. I doubt that it's gotten THAT much better.

No, I've never had to train my replacement because I was irreplaceable.

In the case of these receipts, you don't even need OCR. The diff between them is obvious to any naked eye, and much faster and more efficient than what they're doing. Not exactly the same case as the p9r's, where you have to transcribe.

And we could be making mistakes too.

Computers don't have eyes. That's the issue. We have to train them (hence, the field of Machine Learning) to be able to figure this stuff out.

She had another one earlier today. It wasn't her usual hilarious one tho. I think today isn't her quirky day.

I do all of her surveys when I qual for them. I really find them fun (not so much the one earlier today though). Some of them are slightly crazy, but they pay well. I actually thought she was trolling the first few times I saw her hits posted LOL!!!!
