I even remember in perhaps 2008, serious business people were predicting that Netflix was screwed because ISP's wouldn't be able/willing to keep up (or something along those lines). I haven't looked into it in a while and I don't remember the exact technical details, but it took a while before they were a slam dunk.

Hell, I remember when everyone said ISP's were going to go full illuminati and limit everyone to like 10 gigabyte per month bandwidths and cap the internet at .0001 kilobits per second so they could kill over internet services. The ISP's are in general more incompetent and cowardly than outright malicious.
