So annoyed. I have had one book on hold since December. Another since January. Another since April. All now have 1 person ahead of me. I'm going to end up having to do nothing but read for a couple days because watch... these will all open up and download on the same damn day LOL
If they are popular releases you can usually download them in kindle or pdf format off torrent sites if you use them.

Only if it leaks through a watermarked copy for testers, or someone producing it leaks it without watermark. So basically, no. Web rips do come out beforehand if it leaks as well, this is without a watercopy. But it's very rare.
You're already doing the right thing from an ethical and moral standpoint. I would say just keep waiting, or find some different books in the meantime. I know I'm probably in the minority on this issue, but I don't think piracy is acceptable and if I can't consume the media in a legal/convenient way, I just won't bother.
