I ordered my disc brake kit. One of the few things I haven't done on a car is swap to a completely different braking system.. so this should be a good learning experience.
Sorry for nearly a month of no updates, but as the typical Tennessee winter weather approaches, this isn't something I can commit as much time to. It may be sitting for the entire winter, akin to it's most recent 10 year life, but rest assured it will be on the road by March or April.

Another update: the carb that has been on the 5.0 since it was bought finally gave out. I considered rebuilding it which would only cost $20, but putting new gaskets on one isn't the same as having a brand new machined piece that has more recent tech and the ability to accept ethanol-blended gas that is so heavily present today. I bought a brand new one for $120, it's the exact same model, but with the newer tech that I mentioned above. This will not only get the car breathing better like it did back in the day, but also will give me a solid 20 highway MPG (as tested by various hot rod magazines) as well as not junk up if I get mid range gas with 10% ethanol in it.

Here's why it's great to have people who owe you a favor. Brand new never used set of chromed valve covers. I'm planning on going to a parts swap this weekend in an attempt to find a used set of wheels and tires (because I'm cheap.) Only 4 or so more months until it will be a daily driver.

Dang it. I couldn't even watch the video. About 2 seconds after clicking on it, my computer started yelling at me about encountering a virus. Looking forward to more pictures. Love old muscle cars!

We are in the process of restoring my late Papa's 85' F150 with the fuel injected 302. Not a car but a sentimental restore nonetheless. So I feel ya on the rabbit trails this process creates. :)

It is finally out. I think I've put on quite a bit of muscle wrestling this thing around. No power steering or brakes.
The yard is a mess in these pictures but luckily it isn't my yard. ;)

It will be back home tomorrow. Until then, all I could offer you is what the Turk dollars have covered in repairs :)

It is back home for good now. Turns out people in this town prefer classic Fords over the Pontiacs. I kept getting people trying to talk to me while getting gas.. while it was storming outside. It's great to know the wipers worked, albeit barely. The fuel gauge cable snapped on the way home, but I'm not concerned. I'll just have to remember to get gas every day I drive it.

Here it is as it sits now. I took the wheel covers off because I prefer the "plain" look. I'll probably be like any other Mustang guy and buy Centerlines or Outlaws in the future.
