Hey everyone - I'm new to mturk, but not to microtasks/crowdsourced working. The site I used to work on got too spammy. Then, I joined another one that offered only long, boring writing tasks graded by pedantis jerks  If you don't want "informal," don't ask for "voice" and "creativity"! I digress... Mturk has been great so far. I'm enjoying the diversity of tasks available and the useful feedback (when offered). I decided to join mturkforum after lurking around for a while!
HI! and welcome - I am in Virginia. What other sites do you use? feel free to PM if you don't want to post publically.
Hello, and thank you! One site is called Clickworker (that is the one that got too spammy for me - lots of "SIGN UP FOR THIS AWESOME DEAL WITH ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO!" type HITs). The other I can't remember, but you had to sign in via Facebook. To be fair to the second one, it wasn't *that* bad, it is just that I either got feedback that said I did great and didn't need to improve, or I got vague feedback that sometimes implied I was uneducated (along with a rejection - at this site your work could be accepted, accepted with edits, or rejected).
Welcome to the forum! If you haven't already, download Turkopticon. It will help you avoid those spammy 'Make $100 in 5 minutes' HITs and other various crappy requesters on mturk. Good luck and happy turking!
