Nevermid- got it figured out...if anyone needs to do this...find your backup file, right click to open then select either Word or notepad, copy the whole thing and then paste it into the field that opens in the Hit database after clicking import. Too bad the backup copies have lost lots of data in my case. Wish there was a way to recover it somehow.
