Best to get your numbers up anyway. Some surveys or studies require a minimum of 1000 tweets or whatever it was the other week.
I tried it about a week ago and had the same issue. Both Chrome and Firefox showed that I had disabled protection, but I still couldn't see anything. I did a similar HIT for them last Fall without a problem.
