Big ASMR fan over here as well. I knew I experienced SOMETHING when i'd nod off in class because the science teacher's voice was so soothing. I didn't realize it was actual THING though until a few years ago. I had a few non ASMR people I subscribed to that would give me ASMR from their voices. Then I was like ok, am I weirdo freak? and googled "my ears get tingly when I listen to gum chewing videos" and up popped an ASMR thread on a forum and I finally knew what I was dealing with. Then I found Amalzd, Tony Bomboni, Emepherial Rift (I can never spell that) ASMR Angel, etc on youtube to watch frequently.
Tony Bomboni was actually shown on Tosh.0 a few years back. They of course we're making fun of his Fairy Video, but he didn't care, he was flattered it was shown on tv.
Sorry for being a dick here lately. Nicotine cravings hitting as hard as a MF. Congrats to you guys who have went years without it because it almost takes more mental power than I have.
This is all crazy to me. Just quickly thinking it over I already know pretty much exactly what causes it for me though I've never heard of it before now - because I've felt it all my life lol. Never thought about it because I thought everyone felt it and it was just a normal thing that happened sometimes. Now just reading around and finding out we're in a minority who can feel this, that's crazy. I think I may even be on the extreme end of feeling it. What I was reading now it seems like most people feel in in their scalp and maybe back but I feel it over my entire body in waves. I think it's kind of like what a cat must feel like when it's purring. Geez the new things I learn on mturkforum.
Have you tried ecigs? You can very gradually reduce the nicotine content of the juice until there's none at all. Edit: Ah, nvm, you weren't smoking it.
I've tried multiple times and I always failed until now. I've made tlit a couple months which is amazing compared to the literal hours as before. Now that I look back on it, I can't think of a time of day where I didn't have a dip besides while eating and drinking. Hardest part about it is trying to break that habit. Peppermints seem to work the best but they start getting expensive as fast as I go through them.
I haven't touched a cigarette of any kind in many years and don't plan to ever return. I know the ecigs don't leave that nasty smell and such but I know if I started that I'd eventually talk myself into smoking. No fun.
I had a friend in high school who had a really bad nail biting habit and someone made him suck on jujubes all the time. Not sure if that would help but I remember them being pretty hard and might last longer than peppermints, although they're pretty small.
I did this the few times I quit for more than a few days, I was addicted to Altoids. So strong they kind of give a throat hit, and it gave my mouth something to do. Good luck with it, you can do it and you will be a lot happier and healthier once you do.
Took some chemical assistance (Wellbutrin), but I was able to quit smoking successfully about ten years ago. Really happy about quitting, although my weight took a hit that I've never really recovered from. Also, just noticed that I passed a turk milestone.
