Do you want us to include things like "Intra-oral cameras in all operatories" and "Digital X-Ray Machine"?
I haven't been. I've seen those too. I think that falls under equipment and uses, not services. We will see what Mark says.
I don't write those either. Technology isn't reality the same thing as the service/procedures. I remember Mark saying this weeks ago. Hopefully I am not wrong.
You're probably right. I just keep seeing them listed in the procedures list so I thought it best to ask.
No, those are more tech's as the others said. It gets confusing when it says things like "x-rays" which is technically a service vs. "x-ray machine" which is a tech. Make sense? ~ Mark L.
I just started doing these, and I ran across one that offers Botox and Dermal Fillers as part of their cosmetic dentistry procedures. I included them, but it seems weird. I guess you want to fix your smile wrinkles when you fix your smile?
Sometimes on the list of services when Periodontics come up it shows like this Periodontal Disease What is Periodontal (Gum) Disease? Causes of Periodontal Disease Types of Periodontal Disease Signs & Symptoms of Periodontal Disease Mouth - Body Connection Periodontal Disease and Diabetes Periodontal Disease, Heart Disease and Stroke Periodontal Disease and Pregnancy Periodontal Disease and Osteoporosis Periodontal Disease and Respiratory Disease Diagnosis Maintenance Treatment Do we just put periodontic disease or just list the maintenance or treatment?
I've always trimmed out most of the stuff like "Signs & Symptoms of Periodontal Disease" and "Mouth - Body Connection" while keeping things like diagnosis and treatment.
I remember one (not in this batch) that marketed itself as a combination dental office and spa. You could get a pedicure and aromatherapy with your tooth colored fillings.
Just to be clear, does this include things like diagnosis and treatment or just the descriptive stuff wahoo asked about?
I would need to see an example, but for now if it is similar to what Wahoo pointed out then yes. We are looking for a definitive list of services, not what their website layout is like. Make sense? ~ Mark L.
I'll use her post as an example of what I'm asking. The list would look like this... Periodontal Disease What is Periodontal (Gum) Disease? Causes of Periodontal Disease Types of Periodontal Disease Signs & Symptoms of Periodontal Disease Mouth - Body Connection Periodontal Disease and Diabetes Periodontal Disease, Heart Disease and Stroke Periodontal Disease and Pregnancy Periodontal Disease and Osteoporosis Periodontal Disease and Respiratory Disease Diagnosis Maintenance Treatment But what I've been doing is quickly editing that down to this... Periodontal Disease Diagnosis Maintenance Treatment ... with the assumption that those are three procedures that dentist does in periodontics. (I've also noticed two or three dentists that have their lists just like my example with the excess informational links removed.) Would that be correct or should I just put "Periodontics" and omit everything under it?
While "diagnosis" "maintenance" "treatment" are "services" (I use quotes for a reason), they do not explain enough for it to be useful to someone looking at it. Even considering, putting "Periodontal" before it helps but the average person does not know that "periodontal" means affecting or having to do with the gums. So I would just omit everything in this case. Make sense? ~ Mark L.
Yeah, I see what you mean. So we just eliminate the periodontal section completely. Good to know, thanks!
Yeah I was doing the same thing as you were doing editing to that list too. Now we know not to next time.
