Hey, all. One of the teens I work with, Ava Reinhard, has been missing since Wednesday morning, 4/23. She was last seen in downtown Denver around noon, but has not been seen since. Info from friends and witnesses who saw her last leads us to suspect that she is at high risk. She also left without her cell phone, so we haven't been able to contact her. The only leads we having going so far are that she may have started trainhopping towards San Francisco or Nevada, with two guys (likely transients) named Ghost and Juice. They may be headed to a place in SF called Hippie Hill, but none of the leads we have so far are particularly solid. I know that we're a community from all over the world, especially the US, and I sort of hope that tossing this out to a bunch of different persons all at once that aren't directly connected to her, might be able to yield some better results than what we've been able to dig up. Below is the flyer that our local police department has released. If you guys could take this and share it to your social medias, with the hashtag #FindAva, we'd all appreciate it. Local news has been reluctant to pick this story up, but every extra set of eyeballs helps. (Minutia that isn't included on the flyer is that Ava recently dyed the tips/underside of her hair pink, and may be carrying a pink or red duffel bag.) Her friends and family and I are worried sick about her, and just want to know that she's ok. Obviously, if you see her, or hear of anything, please contact the police at the number listed on the flyer.
As of right now: The head of the BNSF stopped and searched almost every freight train that was headed out of Denver yesterday, she was not on any of them. Though there was some indication that she may have already hopped up to Fort Collins, there may have been a sighting of her earlier is that she may have been spotted in downtown Denver yesterday, so the hope is that that was actually her, and that she hasn't left the state - though her hair may now be dyed purple or blue. I'm really beating myself up about this - I was out of town last night, and the cross streets she was spotted at are only a few blocks away from the DIY venue I volunteer at. We've definitely been having shows every night since she's gone missing. If she was there, and I wasn't there to see her... I know I can't be everywhere all at once, but the fact that she was spotted down there is going to bother me til she's found.
Best news ever: Ava has been found!!! She's safe in San Diego, and her parents are headed out right now to go get her. So many thanks to all of you who shared her info around the country.
