We need to do something about people posting NSFW HIT links w/o specifying them as NSFW. I have had to quickly close my browser twice in the past 2 days at work due to these inconsiderate posts.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that jumps on here every now and then when they have a minute or two at work. Please help.

Don't you have to close the browser when your boss sees you spending your time working on Mturk anyway? lol

I don't get people who have jobs and still MTurk anyway. I do it because I have no job.

i'm always happy to have a little extra spare spending money. i also have a wife and father who recently got laid off and i like to do what i can to help my family. just because i have a job doesn't mean i have all the money in the world

anyway, this is all off topic. can we please make a rule that you have to specify NSFW?

I can see your concern. I think people should post NSFW as a courtesy, but making a rule with punishment is a bit severe. I would highly recommend you don't click the few random links that get posted here on your 30 minute lunch break. Click those links when you get home instead ;)

I wouldn't say anyone is being inconsiderate, considering that those Great HIT's are possible only because of considerate people taking the time to post them. :)

It would be nice if they did label them as NSFW, but that is not requirement, nor should it be. You are taking the risk to Turk at work.

so there's no one else on this forum that gets annoyed by this? guess i'll just have to be more careful. i would appreciate it if people would do their best to specify if NSFW. those who already do, Thank you!

I guess I am puzzled by what you consider not safe for work? What I consider not safe for work would be adult content, but this can be clearly seen in HIT titles. I think you would have better luck petitioning for people to use the Great HITs script (which would give you the title), but even then you couldn't force anyone to use it. IDK?

Well I will chime in on this since I was 'chastised' by you for posting something that was apparently NSFW. However, I did not reply to you after your chastisement and this is why. The HIT was for drawing bounding boxes around people's heads.. yes it was stated there was POSSIBLE adult content however when looking at the HIT all it showed was instructions. NONE of the pictures you had to work on showed up until after the HIT was accepted. If you automatically accepted the HIT without noting in the HIT description there was possible adult content.. not meaning this in a snippy way whatsoever but.. that is no one's fault but your own.

On the VERY rare occasion I happen to post one of the 'porn' related HITs I do [Like classify images, netmsi, rainc] I will post that it's adult. -shrugs- That's my .02 for whatever it's worth.

I would also like to appologize if I made u feel chastised. I used the word "please" to avoid sounding harsh but of course tone is up to the interpreter when it comes to text.

Lots of NSFW stuff can float into HITs here without it being labeled. I was doing a CrowdSource link yesterday where you had to check if web site links were valid or not. Most of them were household appliance repair and such, but I got a couple like UK Swingers and the like. I would assume anything on mTurk that has pictures/video or links to outside content could be NSFW. If I was at work and turking, I would only do surveys or batch HITs I knew were safe. Anything else you're taking a gamble on.

When I post HITs that are porn, I do state 'porn' in the HITs. But like I said, some of the image HITs you would never know.

tl;dr I'd be careful about anything aside from surveys and familiar batches.

I turk at work to afford my addictions. Gaming, books, and high priced electronics.

My work pays for the boring stuff like bills, house, car, etc...
