You need to go to the old site and retrieve it. Sooner the better just in case Amazon gets rid of it for good. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/dashboard?doNotRedirect=true Got this from someone in Reddit: Go there and then to the Hit DB at the bottom. Don't bother trying to update - mine didn't work and someone else here had the same experience so I think that's not working anymore. But if you click "Create Backup" the script will download the file you'll need to import to the new site's version of Hit DB. Depending on your browser's settings, you may get a "save this?" kind of popup or it may just automatically save the file somewhere (wherever your browser is set to save those; mine go to the desktop so I can find them easily). The file will have a name like this: hitdb_20171216.bak You can open it in a spreadsheet but it doesn't look like much. I can say that the one I did today, just to test these instructions, does look like the one I grabbed yesterday, so I think it should be okay. I suspect it will be out of date, though, with nothing after yesterday (12/14). You just need to save it somewhere until the Hit DB script is working on the new site. Just one more thing: There is another kind of file you can download from there, and that's the CSV. If you want to actually see your hits and some information about them that's the one to grab, but - like the .bak file - you'll need a spreadsheet to open it, and you may need to play with the column widths and maybe re-sort everything. But it's pretty much just for your own use (I use it to update my own hit database; or at least I did ). The .bak file is the one that's needed for importing. Save it until you find another Hit Database to import it to.
The old one won't backup, and I'm getting an error message. There's only 1 line of print in Open Office Calc, the free equivalent of Excel. I don't really use the file very much, and I didn't bother saving the CSV previously. I'll just took partial screenshots of the requ in the past 2 weeks or so in the 45-day list. Would you believe it up-to-date? Let us know when a new DB script comes out.
Some improvement in MTS, from a friend at another forum Kadauchi hasn't been able to make the colored rows, but this will make visited hits red. Also will keep the rows as alternately gray and white. ************************************************************* Click the MTS button, and go to Settings. Color themes are at the bottom Switch to the LUMEN theme and then you can apply visited link Open the Hitfinder page and have it running, push the new bookmark button highlight and copy this: Code: javascript:document.head.insertAdjacentHTML(`beforeend`, `<style>a:visited { color: #CFB53B; }</style>`); right click your tool bar and click on ''ADD PAGE'' (=Bookmark) make sure to paste into the second field, URL, and feel free to change the color (I'm using #B22222) ********************************************************************** He's using gold, but I changed mine to orange. Every time I open Finder, I click that bookmark in the toolbar.
very nice, thanks. works with hit forker and probably any other page hit forker doesn't force visited link color but this make them stand out better with some style changing scripts you have to make sure they run after the page is loaded simple enough to click a bookmarklet though, I use a bunch of them *you have a typo/extra spacce, it should be beforeend javascript:document.head.insertAdjacentHTML(`beforeend`, `<style>a:visited {color: #B22222;}</style>`); seems like MTF post gremlins are busy with anything that looks like a link. just make sure when you paste it you remove the space so it's Code: beforeend
When I try to fix it, the 2 words are joined on the edit screen, then separated again in the post. Are you using Hit Forker with Firefox? It does nothing in mine. NVM
Firefox tips-- I contacted the developer of Hit Forker, and he suggested I should switch from GreaseMonkey to TamperMonkey. Most of my scripts now run on Firefox except MTS. Some of them are pre-Worker site, and they run.
MTS tip-- You're more likely to get the 2 orange panda boxes at the top of HF, if you click the money amount rather than the hit title
I thought it was working but it wasn't, so I removed the tip.I There are 4 such scripts, and it looks like Kadauchi's the only one updating. If someone adopted one of those scripts, someone who knows how to code... ...................... Funny that I have logical tab titles on every site in Firefox, but not in AMT. Hitforker finds, but doesn't panda. If I had a more intuitive panda script in FF, I would chuck Chrome in a minute, but TM and PC are too convoluted for me. I've used both.
I gave up on chrome MTS or not. the forced extension update without asking and closing of tabs at random is a dealbreaker I thought vivaldi would let me set an option but so far I see nothing about updating. developers don't seem to get the fact that users don't recover so easily from bad updates the cure is worse than the disease alot of the time the Title fixer you posted is still being worked on or was. it at least identifies some titles Amt decided to keep titles all the same for some reason unknown to all reasonable people https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/9039-amt-titles you do have to edit the Code: // @match http lines from www.mturk.com to worker.mturk.com // @match http://worker.mturk.com/* // @match https://worker.mturk.com/* it should be possible to use something like this to get both sites Code: w(ww|orker).mturk.com but it didn't work in violentmonkey you can find out how to edit scripts.it ain't rocket science you can fix a few but not all older scripts by updating @match or @include not sure why some scripts don't show on the main script source page but I didn't want to repost the URL in case it was a private script here's a few more I use mturk-larger-radio-buttons-and-checkboxes add Code: // @include http*://*.* so it works everywhere and possibly worker.mturk.com so it works inside hits there are other checkbox scripts but some messed up sliders in firefox, this one is ok another life saver 8716-mmmturkeybacon-unclick-radio-button or 2037-clear-radio-button I actually use an older 6540.user.js, probably on a mirror site we could use a script that blocks F5 and backspace inside survey pages so you don't hit them by mistake and restart a survey or lose your input
I am having problems with panda crazy. When I try to start it I get sent to MTurk start page. Any help would be great.
Panda Crazy was recently updated yesterday. You need to update it. [Panda Crazy] Jr Panda Crazy Url is: https://worker.mturk.com/?filters[search_term]=pandacrazy=on
"developers don't seem to get the fact that users don't recover so easily from bad updates the cure is worse than the disease alot of the time" Surely you don't mean Mozilla and Amazon? Script writers and extension writers are not getting paid for this, just doing it for fellow users. They ask for donations, but I wonder how much they get. Program developers are another story. They don't feel they've given us bad updates. I know it's not rocket science, but I don't know HTML, and don't have time to learn. I'm trying to earn a little on top of my Social Security to pay basic bills, and it's slow slogging on this site w/o a Masters. Instead of just doing your work, you're constantly playing with it to make it operate properly. You're running Greasemonkey? I can reactivate it and deactivate Tamper if you think it's better, but HitForker doesn't work on it.
we are all unpaid untrained beta testers developers only can test on the systems they have they generally don't care if you're behind on your updates, low on memory or use other scripts, extensions or programs that they don't cooperate well with. too bad for you I use violentmonkey as recommended on greasemonkey front page for older script compatibility! I have a few scripts still don't work. I may have to try tampermonkey maybe reverting to greasemonkey 3.9 will still work in earlier firefox you're better off with tampermonkey in newer firefox greasemonkey 4 is awful, not sure why they had to mess with the way it worked. they seem to have been caught by surprise with new firefox and most scripts don't work the first hit forker works in firefox55, the more recent link with a new author name didn't work luckily I saved the script, old page redirects to new page, suck a tricky bunch. I haven't tried the new script again, it was updated a few times and sounds like they are working on firefox compatibility
"I use violentmonkey as recommended on greasemonkey front page for older script compatibility! I have a few scripts still don't work. I may have to try tampermonkey maybe reverting to greasemonkey 3.9 will still work in earlier firefox you're better off with tampermonkey in newer firefox" I'm on the FF ESR track till next July, waiting for more ported extensions. Hit Forker works fine now, but I won't go back to PC or TM for pandas. Maybe Flora has something. I changed the Hit Forker Visited to dark red #B82107, and there are 4 or 5 places. Now I don't remember how I opened it. "paste the lines?" I pasted http://worker.mturk.com wherever the old name was The rest was comments, wasn't it?
there can be some gotchas when you edit scripts syntax is mostly non negotiable yes, technically after // in javascript is a comment but, the monkeys look in that first bunch of lines in a script for keywords if you just replaced "www.mturk" with "worker.mturk" and left the rest of the line as is then I guess there is one more anomaly this is a script I also would like to have working again. was a real time saver to see that a hit was caught or not just by the title using the wheelclick, without ever opening the tab titles of the hits and titles that can be used for other pages are still in there but in a harder to find format hopefully, Amazon will quit changing things and eventually someone will publish one of the fixed scripts
