I have never received any bonus from him. I have seen the same question put forward at many places and there is no afffirmative answer, or I don't know if there is. I got few rejects from him and sent him a mail about the same. He later on sent me a long message about 100% approval hits, asking me to work on his hits. I again worked on some and though he approved all hits, I got some negative comments. I do not work anymore on his hits, better to spend my time elsewhere. Is it possible for a sentence to be grammatically wrong after checking it through spellcheck and grammar? I wonder.
Ditto on the no-bonus deal. Also, he almost always approves my sentences but rarely the paragraphs. Surely if I can put together a coherent sentence, I should have no trouble stringing together several of them. I never check my sentences before I submit them because it takes too long and I rarely get rejected anyway. But I have noticed that he relies on other turkers to check our work and it is quite possible that some are simply making guesses and not really doing the legwork. Which could be responsible for unexplained rejections.
Many are getting rejections for those pargraph and article hits. Rejections are much more frequent on articles as compared to sentences. Those who wish to work on his article hits BEWARE, as many turkers are complaining about high rejections. I have not done any recently, just passing along the message to warn others.
Thanks for the warning, sonica. I didn't see any topics that interested me with his articles anyway. I can imagine if he rarely approves paragraphs that he would be much better about articles. I wish the requestors would join this forum so they can learn from the workers.
I have yet to receive any bonuses from him either...but so far I've had no problems with his sentences or his paragraph/article rewrites..only reject I've received from him was when i submitted a blank rewrite on accident
Ugh, I hate when that happens, Orac. What would be really cool is if, when you clicked the submit button or any other key on accident, a box would ask if you are sure you want to submit. If you didn't, you could click on "no" and go back to work.
I agree there should be something in place to stop people from accidentally hitting the submit button early...another thing I have run into while doing Todd's hits is where it asks me to rewrite a sentence that only has one word. (like the only thing I'm supposed to rewrite is "22") amazingly, I simply wrote out twenty-two and it got accepted
I've been working on Todd's hits for almost a month straight now and he kept saying... "blah blah blah bonus' blah" so I actually asked him how long you have to be working for him in order to receive a bonus. He never replied.
I am kind of confused about his approval policy. One day he warns you of future rejections, and some time later he asks you to work on his hits. I believe he gets our work checked by others, and approval or rejections are based on their evaluation.
