Maybe im imagining it but it seems if i let something expire instead of returning it i can still accept it later on if i see it vs i cant do if i return it so i was wondering if there was a specific reason i should return something instead of letting it expire?
Depends on the HIT. Sometimes even when it's expired, we can't accept again. Depends how the HIT is set up I think. As for returns I noticed that if you return, you can accept it the next day when it resets. Sometimes anyway.
Definitely not the case with that annika one >.> i returned that the first day she posted cause chrome broke the hit till i figured out it was ublock and i still cant accept that. I mean i don't mind returning hits but like 90% of the ones i return i cant accept again and it seemed like almost all of the ones i just let expire let me take them again. Maybe i just have weird luck though.
The game you are trying to join is not active, either: it has been completed, or it is experiencing technical difficulties. Please return this HIT, we hope you will participate in another of our games in the future. That's a bunch of crap considering it says you still get paid if not enough players join. Also, that was a half hour of my life.
I've lost $4 today on hits so far. Not my Friday. My son is leaving tomorrow to spend the summer with his dad several states away. So I may be cranky. Especially since I'm doing this to try and save money to be able to afford to pick him up at summer's end.
Quick: EDIT: Returned, made my head hurt and quoted 45 mins :/ Title: Complete a perception game with a partner | PANDA Requester: Jon Overton [A2CPTXX7VQY947] (TO) TO Ratings: TO Unavailable Submit a new TO review Description: You'll be matched with a teammate to work on a game that relies on perceptual abilities. Time: 2 hours HITs Available: 18 Reward: $1.00 Qualifications: None
Beat by lilac. Actually, initially the HIT says that if not enough players show up, you get paid. The HIT also says that you must complete the game to be paid. I think the differentiation is not having even started as opposed to sitting in a frozen game(started). The return notice doesn't offer any money. Someone on crowd yesterday said they had tried 3 times without success. I'm wondering what those who were successful did. Is it the browser? luck? magic?
Just got it and it says this. I'm fairly sure you still get paid if you submit it without doing anything. Please wait for other players to join. The experiment will start immediately when enough players have joined. This might take up to 15 minutes. If not enough players join, the experiment will be rescheduled, but you will still be paid the fixed reward and be able to participate again at a later date.
Shadow, the problem is not that not enough players join, it's that the game freezes in the practice--it's already begun. The players are there, the game isn't. No money because we haven't completed the game. The thing is all in frame, there is no way to submit without finishing the game.

OMG!! Check your HITs page on Mturk! Dukek just put up a payment HIT for little ol' me. 3.00! I don't know if it was for today or yesterday. But Flora said yesterday that there were payment HITs for others--always listen to Mamma, she's right! And so were you, Shadow. GO,GO,GO
40 minutes to finish the whole thing. All of those instructions could have been fit onto a handful of pages without having to wait for the unnecessary narration to complete just to advance to the next page of instructions that were already understood. A hardcore example of sunken cost, but at least there was an end-survey comment section for me to bitch in. Maybe it will make a difference???? probably not
