There are surge protectors with battery backups that will keep you on up to 3 hours. I used to have one of those and they were great. Not cheap but probably worth it. At least it'll let you turn everything off properly and unplug it rather than getting zapped or fried by the power outage.
We get so many storms and power outages that few years ago hubby bought a Back-UPS. All the electronics are connected to it. Since then me hadn't had any of them fry. Worth the money.
Yeah I'm in DC and there are some stores without power right now. Calling it quits, earnings was good, but in order to end the week with a SPARK, I have to make 50-60 tomorrow! Oh boy!
Yes, that sounds like a very good idea. I got very lucky that it was only my old CRT monitor that died. The computer and real monitor were on the same circuit -- I'd be down to turking on an antique Dell laptop running Vista. Ugh.

Unless they've changed TM, it doesn't do that. It can notify you about surveys > $x, but not auto-accept them.
It does not auto accept just any surveys at a set amount or over. It will alert you of them though. TM does catch surveys if you add pandas to it. EDIT: Beaten by Myopia.

Back when I had no internet at my house and I would go to the library to Turk I accidentally cracked the screen on my laptop and had no money to buy a new one at the time. So I bought a used old school computer monitor for 20 bucks and had to connect it to my laptop to work until I could afford a new one. I got some strange looks at the library lol.

Must have missed that one. Mine was "Word-Number Identification Task". Bonus was only a dollar or so. There's still time if they only just paid out that other one I guess. HINL owes me $1.93 from May. Think I can safely write that one off.
