Anyone else have a problem with these? They look like fun, but maybe because I've never played a video game, I can't tell CGI from 3-D CGI from a good illustration.
I feel like you and Lucas might be proof that after a certain # of HITs, Amazon decides you make enough $$ not to need masters, and just gives it to us schlubs in the middle instead.

I take it as evidence of the mystery HIT theory. Because we are talking Amazon here, the mystery batch will be horribly underpaid and the big money makers would never touch it. And thus not get masters. Nah, I think it is totally random. And if they don't give out any by the end of the year I will assume masters is full and abandon all hope.

Anyone get that $18-$24.80 bonus for that SurveyComet HIT? I sent three e-mails about a glitch that happened to me in the first part of the second session and still haven't heard back yet. It had a 30 day AA timer but I noticed the 25 cents for the HIT got paid so I'm thinking it was manually approved. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought unless I never get paid beyond the 25 cents then it will be the worst HIT ever as far as pay for the time I put in (my guess is about 2 hours as it seemed like about a half hour per session not 45 minutes like it said).
Back when the forum was at it's peak I think it had to be between 80-90% of us had masters. I had figured I'd never ever get it so never worried about it or complained but December of 2014 I got the surprise in my inbox. It's made a lot of difference to the point that if for some reason I ever lost it I think I'd quit turking. I'm not making a whole lot more but I don't work as hard or as much to get about 20-30% more than I used to without masters. That's the big difference. I suck at qual stuff I hardly ever get the good ones or I get them and they only post for a while and I get a brief spike in my earnings as sort of a tease.
Y'all hopeful/hopeless masterless peons need to remember that the masters qualification has nothing to do with the workers, not really. It's merely a selling point to offer requesters-- something of poor value to charge extra for....and, of course ,Amazon sets as a default setting for requesters to discover they've been paying extra for and didn't realize it. The perfect business sell. It costs nothing and sells for too much.... best of all, the charge is concealed in fine print and is troublesome to dislodge...It's just good luck if it offers workers a bit extra on some HITs.
While back we ran a poll on how many of us had masters. Results showed the numbers pretty equal between non and masters in this forum.
I could have written this. I had decided I was never going to get it so I never even thought about it anymore. I think I got master's in the same batch that you did. I was so shocked I just sat here and looked at the email for about 2 minutes. Then I went to see if I could accept a master's hit. Then I came here to tell everyone I had gotten it eta: I also have the same experience with earnings. I don't work 14 hours a day to make 20 bucks anymore.
I think the real advantage is availability, though. I block masters hits so they don't clutter my scraper, but if I turn off the block I see my relatively empty scraper screen explode with masters work I can't do, and I cry.
o/ Got it after about six months, with about 15000 HITs maybe? Then I promptly stopped Turking for most of the next six months.
I received my $17.75 bonus today, which is weird, because I thought it was $18 plus .05 for each correct answer.
