I know the folks on TO are big on the paid screeners thing. Never seen so much bitching when someone has a 10 second unpaid screener. To me these paid screeners are just a royal pain in the ass. You get a penny or three for your time, fine. Then you may or may not be qualified for a survey. You may or may not get an email telling you. It may or may not be in the next day or three. It may or may not be still there when you look. It may or may not pay enough to be worth doing. Will you remember not to do the screener again? If they put another screener up in 3 months for another survey can you do it again, or will they use your old data, or will you get rejected doing it again? I don't need your penny. It actually wastes MORE of my time and effort than a simple unpaid screener.
What tops everything is when the screener is literally one question, and they still put it in a fucking Qualtrics survey so you have to click a link and paste back a code. Figure out how to code a bubble question in the damn HIT window, ffs.
