I've definitely seen surveys over $5 in the past week, I don't really keep track of specific requestors. Remember schools are largely out for summer so the number of academic surveys would go down significantly now.

But I completely agree this is not a way to make any sort of living wage. It's good for a little bit of extra pocket money which is what I used it for since I started. Over on TN I really couldn't believe that people use it, or at least try to, as their primary income.

I'm guessing y'all are only referring to straight out surveys with nothing else.. but in any case I just did an $8 court case survey/study a week ago that required watching a 45 min video then brief survey.

I had an $8 survey that took about 15 minutes last week.. when they paid I was quite happy. Requester was Larry Rudman.

I stand corrected! Thank you. (I still maintain that CrowdSource isn't what it used to be - I made entire summer's spending money with them, no more.)

    Oh My! TFF!

With this I agree 200%! They have gone so far down hill since they changed from Midwest to CrowdSource it isn't even funny.

Would leeching be a better term?
Since they dont share anything over there except the occasional good advice posted here
    Is that a better description?

Funny I got banned for the crime of expressing my opinion that 20 dollars a day in earnings on mturk is not a replacement for getting a real job

I think I remember the exact thread you're referring to. It was started because the poster's husband said that turking wasn't a real job. And then everybody else came in about how it was such a real job... And I was just laughing about the whole thing.

The only sort of real job this may pay better than is a minimum wage, part time job where you work for less than 3 hours a day. Otherwise, even with expenses, I don't see much of a way that you can really be earning more here.

So I just received my first warning from TN for inputting too much "opinion" of a requester.
I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with my post in this thread .....

My exact wording in reference to the girl who started the pity party was
"I think your boyfriend is right, 20 dollars a day in income is not a real job."
After that post I forgot about it.
Then all of a sudden I get people stalking me in like the "welcome" forum telling me I am on their sh1tlist
and They can ruin me and all sorts of other threats
Im like wtf did I do to deserve this. Then someone let loose about the thread i posted in
So I revisited it and said again
20 bucks a day is not a real job I make that in a hour in real life
thats when crap really hit the fan
I got warnings from Spazgirl bunch of other mods
    I never backed down
    And why should I?
20 bucks a day is not a replacement for getting a real job unless you are incapable of doing work outside the house
    and this girl wasnt obviously

Well as long as week keep an active thread naming them, I see that continuing.

That's a pretty cool pic. Can also see that people are using their SB search bar to get here and hopefully win bucks =)

Why are you always so condescending to the people on this forum? It's almost like you are just waiting to post negative comments. And just like you think it's a funny thing to sit here and bitch about TN it also funny to me that you are sitting here bitching about us.

If MF wasn't valuable to BB, he/she wouldn't have joined.

I'm not *always* condescending, darling. Only when the situation warrants it. :) And trust, if I could laugh at them for chatting about this forum, I would. As you well know, there are rules on that forum. Booty & rules don't mix well, especially when the rule is "don't be a condescending bitch."

I have learned a bit from this forum. Not much I didn't know about Turking already, but I have learned a few new things that will help me out, and I do try to help others.

In all honesty, I created an account with TN the very same day as I did here. And I was put off by their site from the very beginning. There shouldn't be such secrecy. If you have something to share, opinions on requesters, who's good, who's not quick to pay, etc and I have something to share why the jump through hoops game? I don't know about cliques, ultimately it's their right to run their site as they please. I just feel that we here should be able to discuss our thoughts/feelings with out people making us feel guilty about it.

    Bertha, she isn't always.

But if you poke at her she'll continue with it. And if she knows it bothers you, she'll be on you like

oh wait, all my "on you like" comments could be taken the wrong way so I won't. I'm sure you've heard some of them though.

    She's mean, she's rude, she's a lil hot-headed, but she's smart and when she settles down she's fun =)

edit ok you took out the part about her being a hater and a bitch so my post seems to be coming in way late but oh well =)
