I'm working on transcriptions. Good for numbers, not great pay but it's all money in the account sooner or later.
Was working on rating HubPages, but then I got an alert that my score had fallen and I was on probation, so I've decided those aren't good to do when I'm half asleep :/ I worked on CrowdFlower Decide If This Fits Criteria! quite a bit today and they're working out pretty well. Maybe I'll do some more of those. I'm waiting to see how my approvals are on Tagasauris before I do anymore of those. Marketing & friends was updated today/last night so I'm grinding those until I get bored (which is happening VERY quickly).
The Public Group: Choose the best category for this government project (good english important) I had done quite a few before I got TO and they all got approved and I was quick at them...today I was looking through and saw them, so I did 2 more. Will trust TO next time! I guess I won't bother writing them seeing as how they already had bad reviews and I should have know... I just don't hope things don't go bad with Tagasauris!

check a few posts back for answers to your question the first time. try not to submit too close to the timer running out. you can still get a good submit message but the hit gets abandoned and you don't get credit for it or any potential bonus. maybe if your CPU gets overloaded, browser hangs a few seconds, the timer gets out of synch with amazon timer. if you report a hit broken, the hit is still there in hits assigned to you and you have to go there to return it or continue working on it. if there is enough time you can sometimes contact the requester to ask them what you should do before reporting it broken or returning a hit. someone on the forum may have already got an answer too.

That's weird pretty sure I had 3 at the beginning of this week and today i'm up to 10 randomly as well.
It's not literally marketing and friends. There's a requester named Marketing and then there is a group of requesters than have the names of individual people who put up identical hits. I don't know the exact names tho. Something like Orinstein and a couple of others. The hits have the same titles as the marketing hits. ETA: See two posts up for a list of the names.
It's not actually called "marketing and friends" just a bunch of different requesters offering the same kind of work. Make sure to go get the highlighting script (only works in chrome).
