I worked as a contractor at the beginning of this year, made about $4,000. Also received per capita tribal gaming earnings for being Native. Then about $220 in Dec with Turk. All in all, about 6k. But I also have like $7,000 in child income credit, as well as a few other deductions. So all of my self-employment taxes are paid, I have my tribe withhold my tax, so I get that back as well as the CIC for popping out kids.
Standard deduction. Made $2500 on mturk in 5 months. Have a real job that is about $30k gross/year. I get back $900 federal. I owe my state $120
Fcuk taxes. Mitt Romney got away with paying just 13% in taxes on $17 million (or so), money he made while being "unemployed", meanwhile I'm getting reamed for 15% on a relatively negligible income. Awesome. All I want, literally 0% tax on the first $10k everyone makes. That's all. Not asking for stacks on stacks. Just don't take a penny from me for SS. Heck, I'd be fine with opting out of SS.

It's really simple, all they need to do is cash me out. Principal plus whatever the Treasuries yielded. I mean.. the money IS there, right? It's not like they're making projections about population demographics 40 years from now to determine what's a fair tax and what's a fair payout.. right? It's such a sham. The second you pay in for SS, it's spent by old people. Yes, the same happened for them, except they paid in less, and they'll probably get out more. Face it bear, we're screwed, and the sooner we can get out, the better.
I wish that was how the CIC worked, but it's a only up to $1k per child, I don't understand why I didn't get it for both tho... Maybe I should just go into h&r block and talk to them :/ Second comment: that's my biggest fear.
