I see, thanks. Next time I will just fill my queue, I guess. Got 20 in but would have much preferred to get 40 - 60 in.
Oh ok, I get it. I think it's an adult thing. My daughters LOVE watching toy umboxing videos, and little petshop videos. My 10 year old son has some channels that actually have a time schedule and he watches like it was a sitcom. He also loves the gamer videos. I don't get why they are entertaining either. I can understand playing the game. I don't understand watching other people play a game. Unless you were stuck and trying to learn how to beat it. But he will watch videos for games he doesn't even have. My guilty pleasure on youtube is makeup gurus. I've also got really into this Disney channel called See Ya Reel Soon. The couple is about as annoying as they come, their voices are like nails on a chalkboard. But I can't stop watching. It's just this couple that goes to Disney World all the time and they film the entire thing. I don't see how they have fun when they are just talking to a camera the entire time, but it's entertaining none the less.

Requester p9r has simple transcription (as in type what you see) HITs that pay anywhere from 1 cent up. The penny ones you could probably do in a minute or less. They approve really quickly, too. Not very profitable IMO but if you just want to get your numbers up quickly after a rejection it's worth it. I did some for that very reason.
Beware p95, they do reject. They overturned my rejection a couple days after I emailed them about it, but it's not really worth the hassle, in my opinion. I used to like the 411Richmond Verify a Single Value. I've never had any rejected and have done literally 1000s of them.
Thanks for the advice. I have done maybe ~50 p9r HITs without a rejection, and they usually approve within an hour or less, which is why I suggested them. But it sounds like 411Richmond is a safer bet.
Simply put, think of it as the same way people see sexual kinks. I know, I know, it seems a bit of an extreme example, and maybe because I am up waaayyy too late (yet again!), so I can't think of a better way to explain it, but it's just like people with weird kinks/fetishes. To one person, it's TOTALLY out there, but to someone else, it's their cup of tea. Foot fetish? Not my style, I don't knock it, but I don't dig. But that Asian guy down at the end of the street? Oh yeah, he digs. So much so, he owns two nail salons in town. Creepy? Sure is (considering the circumstances), but that's what he likes, and well, without that sort of diversity, the world would be a dull (though maybe less scary) place. It's all simply a matter of perception. That person that likes watching unboxing videos? Turns out he's too poor to afford nice, new things that come in boxes that aren't soaked in grease and 3 day-old trash. The kid who loves those "Let's Play" videos? His parents won't buy him an Xbox for Christmas. Or to cite a person example along the lines of the "Let's Play" examples, here's one: I've watched/downloaded a bunch of Legend of Zelda video walkthroughs (without commentary). Mind you, these are games I've already played and beaten dozens of times before. So, I've played them, beaten them, and now I watch someone else play them and beat them? Ooooohh, the excitement, right? Actually, as it turns out, that rush of nostalgia is what I chase after, and because I make 100% of my income on MTurk, and am stuck living in my SO's dad's basement for the time being, I need to spend as much time as humanly possible either working on Turk, thinking of new ways to make money (that don't involve the typical 9-5 grind), come up with new AHK script ideas to improve my overall productivity, or spend time with my lady. That being said, considering my meager earnings, and failure as a provider for myself and my woman (or perhaps my past failures, as lately, I have been working my ass off at getting us out of the hole we're in; no pun intended), I have very little free time to just kick back and do nothing. Even when I'm doing nothing, it's become so deeply ingrained into my mind that I have to constantly be doing something "productive", that I'm driving myself to the point of not being able to sleep anymore, because the moment my head hits those pillows at night, all I can think about is what I'm gonna work on tomorrow, what I'm gonna script, how I'm gonna tackle the day. Then, I end up on here, posting ridiculously long rants about things that have nothing to do with Turk. But because I'm so tired from the constant thinking, and the lack of work that tickles my fancy at the moment, I have no motivation to do things such as play those games. Then, I either get tired enough to pass out, or I wake up, and (as of lately), the Turk Gods rain glorious money upon us. And yet, I still crave that nostalgia. So, instead of wasting my valuable time - time I could spend turking, scripting, thinking, or whatever else I do in a day - I multitask by simply watching some of those videos while I work. That way, I can experience the joy of playing the game (or rather, reliving the experience) while I do something that's going to help me get my life back on track. Then, maybe someday, I can sit down again, dust off the old game cartridges, and enjoy my childhood all over again. But again, that's just me. Everyone's reasons are different, and to be fair, there are some people out there who are just plain weird. Some who are just so simple-minded, that the mere act of taking something new and shiny out of a box is enough to keep themselves occupied and happy. TL;DR - We're all different. It's what makes the world go around; it's what gives us the things we have; IT'S THE NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS!!!!!! /caps

Yeah, I did quite a few p9r HITs, thinking other people just weren't careful. So, I was very careful. It was when I first started, and that rejection made me really nervous!

Well said. To clarify: I wasn't knocking "Let's Play", "unboxing", "hauls", etc.; I think they are generally pretty harmless. What I was saying was I don't really "get" its sheer popularity. Your examples were well thought out, but I still don't get the level of general interest or semi-celebrity of some of the people who do these things. What I mean is I could see some people being interested in some of these things as a one-off video here and there, but I don't get the interest that fuels it enough to have regular viewers with some of the content providers making six-figures. I don't get how "Let's Play" pretty much got so huge it spawned Twitch. For example, I am pretty poor but don't get "unboxing" videos. Like you, though, I have watched at least a few "Let's Play" videos for nostalgia, or sometimes to help me with strategy in a game I was playing, but not at a rate that would really line anyone's pockets over the long-haul.
