Responding a bit late, and I see by the time I finished writing this damn novel and a half, LiquidMist is offline. Whatever, I spent all that time writing it, so I'm posting it anyways. Sorry in advance for littering your computer screens with my rambling. XD I'm with ya on this, buddy. Thing is though (science jokes aside), you do matter. It's people just like you and everyone else here that makes this forum what it is; a place to share the Turk life with, to shoot the shit, to make one another laugh, and to just be our online selves. I've had a rough go of things these last 23 years, and I shut myself into my room, thinking about how things are gonna get better, hoping, wishing, and at the same time, despising the "outside world". Hell, even my closest friends and family members constantly give me shit for everything from my mental disorders, to my job (full-time Turk). I even feel ashamed to even be around them most of the time, because whether or not they say it out loud, I feel as though they're silently judging me - thinking lesser of me - because of my meager income, and the fact that I'm not out breaking my back at a "real job". I live with my girlfriend at her dad's house, can barely afford to eat anything beyond the lowest, trashiest processed garbage my local Kroger tries to pass off as food, and have been getting financially fucked in every direction over and over again for the last couple of years now (largely due to other people). To say that I dislike "people" is an understatement to the likes of which I don't feel words can fully express. So, I'm right there with you brother, 150% of the way. That being said, I offer this advice: fuck 'em. I'm not - in any way, shape, or form - trying to sound like a condescending ass, and therefore, I apologize if it is mistakenly taken as such by you, or anyone reading this, for that matter. I want to be accepted as well; I've always been an outcast, reject, loner - more often than not - with no say in the matter. People look at me and instantly say "fuck this guy". And ya know what? After so many years of dealing with it, I've learned to dish it right back out. "Don't like me for [insert superficial reason here]? Well, fuck you too, pal". Funny thing is, most people that take the time to get to know me end up loving me to death (IRL, at least), because I am who I am for no one but myself. Whether that be through sheer coincidence that my personality meshes so well with others that do like me, or the fact those people who stick around long enough to get to know me sees that I'm a pretty down to earth, genuine guy, I'm not honestly sure, and it really doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is that I am myself, and if people like me and accept me for that, then great. If not, well, oh well. I do understand the fear of rejection. It's terrifying for some of us, and maybe it's because we care too much? I know I am like that, at least on a personal level with people. Hell, even with my "Fuck me? Fuck you!" attitude, I still feel the pain and anxiety that comes with rejection from time to time, maybe more often than I care to admit. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna let that feeling stay with me and run my life. I think the easiest way for me to think about it is this: if you don't like me, you probably don't know what you're missing. I'm not saying this to brag; I'm honestly nothing special. But I know that when it comes to a friend who is genuine, loyal, and trustworthy, I am more than capable of filling those shoes. To be honest, LiquidMist, whether or not you realize it, I genuinely enjoy reading some of the stuff you post. I feel that way about a lot of people, which is why you may notice that my "Thanks" count is multiple times the number of my posts. But between being anti-social, the fact that I am not often on here too late, and when I am on here late, my brain is fried from an early start or a full day of Turking, I don't have much to say most of the time. And, as it turns out, when I do, it turns into the Great Text Wall of MTF. TL;DR - You do matter, and whether or not others give a shit about you or not shouldn't matter. Besides, whether it may seem like it or not, some of us do care to hear your opinions and see what you have to say.
How would that be worth it at even 75 cents. You said it would take you 12 minutes. Lets say you get better with practice and shave a third of that off that is still 8 minutes for 75 cents or 5.62 an hour. Heck even if you cut your time in half it would be 6 minutes for 75 cents and a whopping 7.50 an hour or a thorough meh.
