So I've got hair on my face and body, right, and one day in july or something I was walking to the bar. Bear's Den, it's called, because the college next door has a purple bear for their mascot. That bit isn't important.

Anyway it was hot as hell, it being July in Conway Arkansas and all and about 3:30 in the afternoon on top of that, so I'm walking the mile with my shirt in my pocket and The Aeneid in my hand, and then some dude in a black truck pulls over really quickly and gestures out his window at me. I don't recognize the truck, but I don't know what all the people I know look like, so I walked over to say hello.

Dude was like "where are you going" and I say "I'm going to Bear's Den, where are you going, man?" and he says "Oh, do you know of any gay bars in the area?" and I say "My buddy Josh from the laundromat is always at the bar this time of day and he's gay, but I think that's not what you mean. I don't know any specifically gay bars, sorry." And then I quizzically look at him until he drives away, continue walking on, and bought a pitcher. This was when you could get a pitcher of PBR for 6 bucks at Bear's Den, back when they still had it on tap.

I wonder if he found was he was looking for.
