I did the same thing as B. Even stranger, I barely turked from Thanksgiving (2013) to the middle of January (2014). I got the magic email in the middle of January (2014). While I did not turk much, I did watch for the stuff that ar-wa was reviewing (e.g., venue quality). Then again, I also had a 99.9% approval with approximately 65,000 submitted hits
Whatever led to me getting Masters had to have happened in the last three weeks or so. I got a new job in January, so hadn't turked much until April, when I decided i wanted to save up some money for something frivolous.
I've done plenty of AR-WA watched stuff. I mean I used venue qualities to raise numbers when I first started and still occasionally do them now when I see a fairly large batch of them. I did social photos when I saw them and I was qualed for them. Did a shit ton of turk-HPCBeauty and almost positive they were AR-WAed. Plus I'm sure there are others.
Why would you say that? Some really good people on the forum have masters and some really good people don't have masters.

Hey Everybody: I haven't Turked in quite a while, but then I came on last week and racked up around $120 in crowdsurf hits (I had a bill to pay ya'll...) Anyway, today I opened my email and found that I had been awarded the Mechanical Turk Masters designation. Now, I know there's a lot of good stuff said about this thing, but I'm kinda fuzzy about it. What are some of you guys' thoughts about this and is it worth Turking on a regular basis now that I've gotten it?
I did LOTS of Venue Quality, just before I got my masters @ 7000 trying to get to 10K! when I got my Masters! I also did a wide variety of HITS from many,many (survey's and batches ) various requesters.Congrats to the new Masters!(Also did , Social Photos)

Ehh. I don't see the average person with masters on this forum being significantly better then the average person without it. I mean its not completely random but it isn't really that great at grabbing the best turkers.
