My antivirus is not doing anything. Please explain how they can be looking for bitcoins on our forum. Isn't that virtual money?
Fun, unique and no code? No code == no bonus, in which case it hardly seems worth submitting for a penny.
They aren't looking on the forum. I would understand that what they are doing is using the site to implant a program (through cookies or a logger when you log-in to the site) into your PC that runs calculations that help them to "mine" for bitcoin. It's kind of confusing unless you dig into how bitcoin is made, but basically they can use your computer to do math and act as like a PC Farm to get bitcoin and if they can even mine one it's worth over 10k right now. For example China has entire towns that are nothing but bitcoin farms because the calculations needed to "mine" a coin are crazy. It's all math and honestly even reading about it makes my head hurt because of the math involved lol. Back when it started you could buy a mini-machine that was the size of a ring box that was programmed to just do calculations and they cost like 1000$ , but you could potentially get a bunch in the early stages. Now it's to the point they need server farms to do the calculations.
Just discovered there's actually a No Coin block extension for Chrome. Blocks coin miners including Coinhive. I added it for extra protection. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...s-on-t/gojamcfopckidlocpkbelmpjcgmbgjcl?hl=en
"At the end of the survey, you'll find a code." Just saying I don't recall entering my ID as part of the survey. So I don't see how they can know what data goes with what person and give bonuses.

Did he reduce the categories? Looks different somehow. My issue is I don't think it's just some random person doing it. I think it's either Andy TJ Fox or someone else who bought the forum. And that doesn't sit well with me. I would like some answers. Did Fox buy the forum off Andy? Did Andy sell it to someone else? I know he was trying to sell it in the past. Something happened in the past month.
Andy didn't sell the forum to anyone. He still owns it. TJ or didn't put in the coinhive or the pop up ads.
It's not me, it's not Andy, and it's not Fox as far as I know. Nobody's bought the forum, it remains under Andy's control. No No If it did, it's being taken care of. Andy is working on it, that's all that matters. Stop trying to spread conspiracy theories and shit, it's not worth spending the time on it.
At the end of the survey it said to put in your worker ID for the code. I don't remember if I put in the code at the beginning. My mind is like a sieve these days. Anyway, if there is no bonus, then I just did a 2 min HIT for 0.1
Thanks, that explains it some. Sounds like a botnet. Nothing extraneous running on my machine. I keep a tight leash on Task Manager, cookies, cache and History.
What surprises me is that many people don't find this least bit weird, sketchy, unstable, etc... why the fuck should you have to do calculations to earn currency? What do the calculations do? Like I understand why people are paying me to do this stupid MTurk crap or why my I could get paid to do services that have value but what do these calculations do? Is it helping to solve the some sort of dementional time travel? Or is it just busy work that has no real purpose other than to just see who is better at commendearing computer power? And again why?
I downloaded the coinhive extension Flora posted, but I don't know how to work it and there wasn't instructions.
[strike]Go to the main page of the forum (index) then click on the No Coin icon on top of the taskbar. Click on the first one and change it to: White List Permanently. Then Click the green: White List. You're done. It'll tell you that coinhive was found on the site and block it.[/strike] EDIT: That's actually not correct. Was thinking of black list. Once installed, I think we just leave it alone and it does the work. Changing the options allows it.
