Just don't go to those haunted house attractions that pop up around the city during Halloween. So cringe-tastically bad.
That was more a reaction to Fright Fest + Six Flags. Basically combining everything I hate into one activity. Nothing's actually wrong with Six Flags. I'm just not into thrill rides.
I try to go every year, but Six Flags New England is better. I drive there and it's actually closer for me than Six Flags NJ. They now sell fast-passes for their Halloween stuff too. I am NOT waiting 2 hours to do a walk-through, let alone their Haunted Hayride. However, the haunted hayride that is best is in Upstate NY. It's like $30 for a Hayride, five haunted houses, 2 terror trails, a pumpkin patch and a magic show. Much better value than anything in NYC. I want to say it's in Yorktown Heights.

I am guilty of my favorite thing at the only theme park I've been to (Six Flags St. Louis) being that little train thing. Followed by the lazy river and the giant turkey leg stand.
The train's really nice! All it's missing is dinner service. Oh that reminds me, for you crazy people who like being in the air - https://www.moreyspiers.com/eat/breakfast-in-the-sky
Especially since Wildwood, NJ (where Morey's Piers is), has dirty cheap and delicious pancake places on every corner. I went there as a kid. Hawaiian Rumble used to give you a free round of mini golf and some arcade coins with your breakfast too. Best deal in town. Spoiler
I'll be having a nice lazy riverboat jazz brunch. Least if the shit goes down, I'm pretty sure I can swim to shore ahead of the gators.
