not sure what the main reason is. Plenty of the regs here have been turking a long time and the platform slowing down has made a lot of folk more cynical which may not make for the most inviting atmosphere. In general I'm here for surveys I might have missed and general water cooler talk. And I admit I'm one of those ppl that discourage posting batches. It's based in give a man/teach a man to fish concept, but of course selfish reasons too. $40-50 per bark batch last week. $15-25 this week. It happens with everything. Share batches. Lose money. Can't get much simpler. With that, guess I should bid adieu
Should be a beginners forum and a vet forum. Mod the beginner forum and they can talk about whatever shitty hits they do and have a vet forum that isn't modded/ maybe even password protected and we can monitor ourselves and actually talk about hits that matter. People get salty when hits post they can't do and on the flip side people who have been here a while don't want to see the shitty hits posted all the time.
Yep. I mean, this place is great, but it's 80% sifting through junk to find the 20% of posts that actually link jobs. I enjoy some of the banter and music and whatnot, but I can see how it's a huge turnoff for people motivated to Turk and nothing else.
But it's a big stretch to think that the drop in profit is because the batch was shared on this forum. It's far more likely that people simply realized it was a good project and added it to the hundreds of other projects they're constantly scraping. Meanwhile, the forum becomes a lot worse because now it's antagonistic instead of helpful.
I do think a healthy forum should be a little bit of a hangout where people can talk about whatever, but if the signal/noise ratio gets too low then it's worthless. It's probably telling that I usually keep a tab open for one of the other forums, and only switch to it when I need something "useful" (like someone being specific about a batch that everyone's super vague about here, or a panda link for something that was mentioned in passing, but nobody here caught the link for because there's just too few damn people).
If people are motivated to turk and nothing else, a forum isn't the place to be. They'd be better off monitoring scraper than waiting for spoonfeeding. But maybe that's the reason for the decline, people who don't want to shitpost are working more efficiently by just steering clear altogether.
gonna have to agree to disagree. Bark is a perfect example. The more people that know about it, the more times the script gets posted, the faster the batch goes. If five people do 1000 barks that didn't know about them the day before, that just means 5000 barks you didn't have the chance to do. I could give a million other examples. But your right, it's not helpful, especially to people that aren't very good at turking and attacking ppl for posting batches is dumb. Which is why I try to just keep my mouth shut. Not gonna change anyone's minds about giving away money.
Right, there are plenty of other forums, including the FB group, where things get "ruined". It's the same as any new source of easy money in general: A few people figure it out and make a killing-->somebody tells their friends-->a bigger group of people make a decent amount of $$-->it becomes public due to mass media/internet getting a hold of it-->a zillion people do it and it's now worthless due to dilution.
The B forum would explode with greatness and Arby and Seeker would be doing a circle jerk in Forum A with Flora around trying to mod it.

This. I was so close to leaving this forum because people were attacking others for posting a batch or helping someone regarding a batch. Last I checked, that's what this daily thread is for. Now I just don't care what people say and post what I want
Most of the ones that are left are from like Costa Rica, where literally the address is " Walk 10 mins on this unmarked road and then make a left. You won't miss it!"
