Reminds me of when my niece had a wart on her thumb. Someone told her mom to put a banana peel on it. She put it on there for like 2 seconds and the wart turned black and fell off!

Yep it's awesome for that!!! I have cheese grated my fingers as well. Also when grating up garlic recently. It freaking hurts but you don't even realize you got any skin off right away.

I've already made this morning what it took me half the day to make yesterday. Dumb weekends.

Right. I couldn't believe it. There was not a single drop of blood after that point. It burned like a mother though. But it saved me 3 G's , so I wasn't gonna argue.

Did it burn? I'd have probably used vaseline/petroleum jelly

Yes it burned like crazy for about a minute. But, today it's scabbing up and healing really quite nicely. I also read that prevents scarring. Not sure how true that is but I can report as this heals.

Wow your insurance charges 3k to go to the ER? I think my ER copay is normally $100...but right now it's $0 because I've hit my maximum out of pocket for the year. Free healthcare for the rest of the year besides my premium yay

I don't know how much it would have cost but I know my insurance deductible is 3K for ER visits. So I basically would have had to pay for the whole thing.

Wow that's crazy. My insurance company just has a copay for ER visits so deductible doesn't even apply. $100. And it's $15 to go to urgent care. What insurance do you have? I have BCBSNC

    That's nuts.

I'm glad I qualify for medicaid in a state that was smart enough to expand it.

Haha, I forgot that we both live in NC. I have BCBS NC too but it's through my ex-husbands employer. We have a 3K deductible.

Edit - I should add that his employer gives him a 1k medical card (or is it 2k?) to use towards that deductible too. But of course, I don't see a penny of that. And don't ask me why they make the deductible so high and then turn around and hand them a debit card for medical expenses too. It makes no sense to me but I'm not an insurance gal so...
