All of the ones who win here either end up getting in trouble with the IRS or their kids take all the money and stick it up their nose or in their arm. We have the worst luck with lotto winners here.
yep! it was an older lady. even the 10K would be nice hell its all for fun. luckily i dont have anyone to support other than myself so tenk would buy me somethin nice. like a new greddy turbo
there was a show that featured people who had won the lottery. I watched a couple episodes... it was pretty interesting. Some still had $$$ others not a dime. thought it was called 'the lottery ruined my life' but nothings coming up...
Check this out and prepare to see how much money you will lose playing lotto (Powerball) http://graphics.latimes.com/powerball-simulator/
One of the winners on that show started the chain "batteries +" and its still here in nevada operating. that was a cool show.
"lotteries took in $70.1 billion in sales in the 2014 fiscal year. That’s more than Americans in all 50 states spent on sports tickets, books, video games, movie tickets, and recorded music sales." Rhode Island has the highest per-capita spending- $800/pp. :O http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/05/lotteries-americas-70-billion-shame/392870/
I know the couple that won the last huge lottery. They have been really smart about it- they walked away with over $90m. They lived in their house that was worth under $200k until their new house was built (like 18 months or so). They travel a lot, but they also opened a grocery store in town and keep busy with that. I'm gonna be honest...if I had $90M in my hand, I would be the hell out of the Midwest and wouldn't be reporting to a job every day.
Oof, I saw a really sad Dateline about a winner from FL. Some lady killed him after tricking him into signing his house over to her, etc. He was obviously really low IQ but tried to help people out and they all took advantage of him.
My husband told me he bought a ticket today. And then he said, "I've got a paper for you to sign before 10 pm..." Not sure what to make of that one
There was a show on E! called Curse of the Lottery. I remember one episode about a guy who went broke buying airplanes.
