Would I eventually need to activate this? Would this work on a desktop with a blank hard drive no OS installed? I'm looking to replace my optiplex 780 (not cutting it anymore) with an older i5's quad core. I've seen some cheaper systems with no OS installed.

Although if you wanted a free copy of windows you could upgrade your current windows to 10 and get that key to use on your new machine. That is if you like or can stand 10 haha.

I'm trying to stay away from 10. lol. I did just update to el capitan on my macbook pro, but as far as windows for turking win 7 is still cool for me.
I like the email they sent out yesterday saying "we tripled the work, but don't worry! We also tripled the pay!" Like that's why people weren't donig them, because there was only one task per hit? Raise the price and they'll be gone in 10 minutes, dummies.
Any reason for staying away from 10? I've found it to be pretty nice once you get used to it and disable some of the unnecessary stuff.
What all are you looking to do with your PC? If it is just to turk, use the internet, and do basic word/spreadsheet stuff, you could always try a Linux distribution.
