My exhusband worked at Dominos for extra money before and I tell you... we got SO sick of pizza. Everything smelled like it, which was great at first but got old. He enjoyed delivery though. Driving around listening to podcasts. Delivering pizza to Screech from Saved by the Bell. He enjoyed it a lot.
Thank you, CoruptAI. I knew most would be horrified at my "wall of text". It's not what they want, so they resist. The point of a not qualified qualification is that it screens out the poor( they probably already know who those are) and allows other new workers in, thus providing a continuing and shifting and hopefully improving workforce. Having a separate site might not give enough additional new blood to keep the ball in the air. There is another consideration, too. (yes more) Most sites that offer earning opportunities allow only a limited time frame for accepting work. They actively want new workers and will screen old ones out eventually. Only very few keep workers long term, and only few stay long term. People find other things to do. There will be a constant need to add to the work force.
I will point out numerous requesters who screen for good workers also screen for bad workers. Mturk data is the one that springs to mind immediately but there are others. It makes an incredible amount of sense. It is done to prevent people from slacking once they get the good qual. They could remove the good qual, but that has a disadvantage if you ever decide to try and run future batches to give out the qual. So some requesters use a block qual if a worker falls below a certain threshold on the qualled work.
Between the Kyle Tautenhan (sp.) and Racenote account they should have plenty of work to grade and assign qualifications based upon that. IMO, those who have done a large volume of high-quality work should be rewarded for dedication. It'll also give a large sample size to assess quality of work versus some simple qualification test.
I don't mean to endorse any one idea, I have no horse in the race. I was just pointing out that it's not a crazy idea, it makes sense. There are a lot of ways to go about it.
The Noblis that are trickling in now are all schlonged... It must be the dregs other people returned.
I believe both techniques should be used. You assign a positive qual to people who have done good on a large number of hits and if their quality ever slips below some threshold, I believe all quals should be somewhat routinely audited to some level, assign them a negative qual. This will prevent them from working on non qualed hits if you ever decide to try and reopen the qual, something that may need to be done for a very long term project. The same can be done with assigning a numerical value to a qual and that is another way to handle it, but it is effectively the same thing as having two quals anyways.
I mean, I am biased because I've done a lot of work for them. Less than others for sure but every Sunday for quite some time. Not saying others shouldn't get a crack at the qual but by going in with a completely blank slate, the requester takes on more risk and work by not going with known quantities. Someone else in the thread mentioned Dodds. He has a curated workforce for his HITs. If he feels like he needs more workers or some have not done work, he'll open the qual up and grab a few more. He seems to get very good quality results from it and I imagine it's a good route to go. Believe me, grading and managing quals from a boatload of workers takes a ton of time. I doubt Racenote wants to add a lot more unnecessary work.
Agreed, just got one on PANDA, broken graphic links. Just went through that with a few random 25 c Racenotes (the ones everyone returns, because the audio isn't clear enough to transcribe) EDIT: Yeah, just had half a dozen NOBLIS 60 c delivered on TM, all of them had broken links for graphics. Even after logging out and rebooting Chrome. Turning panda off now.
He actually had a qual up yesterday morning. I only was able to snag 4 of 12, but wow. They seem great. No word yet, but fingers crossed.
What were the HITs for? The address verification stuff has been somewhat spotty for a few months now. At one point, it was a guaranteed 30-40 bucks to start out the day. I thought you had that one though?
Awesome 18 minutes, if you have 18 minutes to kill. Mash up from many movies. warning: Includes some violence.
Official company URLs. They're still pretty popular right? I did a few open hits for him a long time ago, but was never lucky enough to get a qual.
