I don't think that the current system is "broken" enough to warrant it, and I think that unless we get someone with moderator rights to police it, it will simply result in a lot of cross-posts and noise consisting of comments like "this belongs in the other thread." Call it pessimism or institutional inertia or whatever, this is simply my $0.02.
