For the "Bib" hits, is it correct to assume that the Bib located on the front of the bike is the number they want? I always thought the bib was worn on the chest or whatever. Probably a yes, but just want to make sure. Also, photos are taking FOREVER to load. Servers getting hammered or something.
A fair amount, but far from an expert. There is no fair. There is just a standard that I would do and a standard I wouldn't and everyone has their own number. You've been around long enough to know crowdsurf could put all their hits up at .05 cents and they would still get done, just might take a little longer. They .09 cent Andy K batch up yesterday would have gotten done at .02 cents a hit. That's the beauty of mturk for requesters. There work will always get done, just a question of time. It's our job to figure out what's best for us individually. For me, I wouldn't do less than 50 cents and audio minute. But everyone has their own number dependent upon speed. Crowdsurf isn't bad or evil. It's just the number they have come up with to have their demands met in the speed they desire. Mturk is weighed 100 percent toward the requesters and virtual workers must fend for themselves. We're all just here trying to help each other out and figure what's best for us but everyone is different. They system is totally stacked against us, but that doesn't mean we don't continue to try and make something from it.

yes the bib is the one mounted on the bike. I did two and it took me about 15 seconds each. That's a rate of .40 a minute or $24 an hour. Yeah, now we know why their servers are going slow. They are getting "HAM'mered!
I agree that it depends on the individual, and I used to transcribe a fair amount for CrowdSurf, but wanted your perspective since you seem to do it more, as I'm thinking of launching a transcription service. But I plan on paying the best rates (to a qual'd pool) and not just settle for what would still get it done, as I wouldn't need to run extra passes since the data is higher quality. So 50c a raw min would be better than crowdsurf, claritrans, speechink, and a good rate to you?
