It's been a min.,,, Regarding the Foodies, lemme play devil's advocate. 1. My accuracy rating as of the batch earlier this month with them is under 70%, I doubt that's right, and yet I've received only 1 rejection out of 335 HITS. 2. At 10 cents a HIT now, typing "PICKLES." or "Cheese, Cheese Cultures" pays damn well. 3. Isn't this exactly why we pad the numbers with auto approvals and chump change HIT's? Just my take.
The email that they sent someone earlier today said that ingredients was the one they were getting spammed on the most. I think they meant scammed. I have no idea how you can scam on ingredients. You type what is there. With that said, I've only done a handful of ingredients when I was totally bored. I chose the ones that had less than four ingredients. I typed them and I proofread them. Then, that annoying popup would appear and ask me if I was sure. I would check the damn thing again then submit. The first few I did on the 9th, I believe, I had over 90% correct. On the 15th, my percentage had dropped to below 50%! Luckily, I was not rejected. I will not do anymore of their work no matter how bored I am.

Crowdflower, enter data from a form (looks like W2)...they look super easy Pays 15 cents https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=259QVR14IXKOADE5883WE6Y70PK89P I didn't qualify but maybe some of you do.
I must not have looked at enough cause most the stuff i seemed to get was not pickles it was enriched flour (wheat flour, barley malt, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, graham flour, vegetable shortening (cottonseed oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil,).. youll have to go get your own box of graham crackers if you wanna know the rest. i thought they made oscar look good sometimes, i only did 3 or 4 oscars because some smartass on here said to do oscars and i couldnt feel their sarcasm
I just had a **** ton of them all approve for me, Nutrients, Icons, and Claims... 170 dollars worth, not one rejection so I don't get why so many got rejected. My friend did as I stated yesterday, but he wasn't putting 0 as a nutrient, he just left it blanked.
I'm the person who had the phone conversation and exchange several e-mails with someone from FoodEssentials who asked not be named so I've been referring the person as "Hortense." Since I've never done ingredients before and since I also am having ongoing discussions with Hortense, I decided to do some tonight. I've done about 20, give or take. I took a screen capture of every single finished HIT just before I submitted it, showing the ingredients photo next to what I had typed in the box. If any of these get rejected, I will be taking it up directly with Hortense. I truly think 99% of the problem with FE is that they don't really understand how MTurk works. Hortense told me that it was Amazon who gave them the line that "most requesters reject ~10 of work submitted" and she also told me that it was Amazon who recommended that they use majority rules as a an effective way to ensure quality control. We who are on the ground know that both of those recommendations are hogwash. I am supposed to have more contact with Hortense tomorrow, so I'm going to keep plugging away at this. She did ask me for the name of the forum where I spend my time and I told her -- so don't be surprised if she joins up here and we start getting a chance to talk to her directly. I still think FE is a good requester and that this debacle can be turned around. But it's going to take some time and patience. I'm perfectly willing to do whatever I can to make that happen. I don't know how I got so lucky today when I decided on the spur of the moment to pick up the phone and see if I could find anybody willing to talk to me, but I think I just might have hit the jackpot!
FE came and posted on these forums when they first started on mturk. They were so chill and cool people.
They get scammed because people Google the ingredient list for an item, go to that web page and copy it from there, then past it into the HIT without ever even reading it.
I don't know why so many people got rejected either. I was lucky for the first time in my life (smiles). I did a few from each category and all approved. I didn't go ham on any of the categories.
