That's how it is when you're milking goats at 4:30 in the morning. An hour later the light begins and all the terrors in the trees disappear, and all that is there is a forest. Only if you were there an hour earlier could see you see the bats were in the trees, that there was something in the dark to fear. I have terrible allergies and so am always sneezing, which leads to black stars flying all around your eyes. I'd just be sneezing and sneezing, barely able to see, milking some goats and all of a sudden the sun would be up so I knew I'd have to finish to get ready in time for school. When there's enough light your brain won't show you the bats. Perhaps you woke up too late to see them.
